PX-701 4K … For the amount of money paid, I would expect far more from a projector, the whole point for getting a 4k is to see a screen with a decent colour. This projector might tick boxes in detail and pixel shifting, but that’s pointless when is so dull and lifeless. If the contrast and colour are adjusted in manual, it scrapes close to passible, however in doing that, the dark scenes are virtually invisible.
All in all , I would not recommend this a contender at £900, I went back to a 15 year old quality projector and there isn’t much difference.

To add the loud noise , tacky remote, for this money, you expect something half premium.

There should be separate review page for each model to give the buyer a better buying experience. not wade through a bunch of review on unrelevent models. Extremely underwhelmed and dissapointed.

This projector is not native 4k and the throw rate according to veiwsonic from 5 mtrs is at least 120 inch I could only manage a90 inch projection on my 133 inch screen and went through all settings many times olso if u don’t use super eco mode fan kicks in louder I’ve been given a replacement from Amazon and hopefully it will be better as I’m not saying it’s a bad projector good pic remote is a nightmare but that’s me DONT take this review as not to buy as it’s worth the money if it’s not faulty as I believe my 1 is veiwsonic is a great company so recommend them for a budget 4k projector but would hold on for newer editions as there constantly bringing out better ones

I purchased this (and a screen) to be able to take on the road for demonstrations and presentations. I don’t know anything about projectors, so take this review with a grain of salt.
The positives: First, it fits in my (moderately large) backpack with room for my laptop and associated cords and cables. Big plus. Secondly, it doesn’t have to be used so that the angle of projection is perpendicular to the screen surface: the projection can be warped somewhat so that the image appears to have been projected along a perpendicular axis even at an angle. Thirdly, you can make out colours quite well in a normally-lit office. Finally, it accepts USB-c input, so if your laptop doesn’t have HDMI out, you don’t need to faff about with adaptors (which helps avoid looking unprepared).
The negatives: First, you do need quite a big backpack — it’s not portable in a strict sense (nor is it advertised as such, so it’s not a criticism of the device, just it’s suitability to my use case). Secondly, the mechanism by which you adjust the image is tricky (at least I found it to be: this is the first time I’ve used a projector rather than having «the AV guy» at hand to compensate for my incompetence): I’d allow 10 minutes after positioning the projector and before presenting to get this adjustment right. Thirdly, the focus is hard to get exactly right—for me this is not a big issue, as I don’t have text-heavy presentations (mostly charts), but if you plan on people being able to read smallish text, give yourself a good couple of minutes extra to fiddle with it.
It has a whole bunch of functionality I haven’t used, and about which I can’t comment, but I imagine it’s quite good.

First projector ever purchased. Using it for movie room. So far no issues. Added nice surround sound system which enhances the experience. Wanted 4K and this was the least expensive i could find. Would purchase again. Have not used for gaming yet.

nice projector but with limitations, pros: very bright image in dynamic mode and normal mode, well detailed image. cons: the zoom and focus work apparently in a funny way (but maybe it was me not able to set them properly?) in eco mode and super eco mode the image is not bright; in all 4 options and despite the adjustments made the visual effect is not very engaging (in dynamic mode it definitely improves); It is a good product for the price but with many limitations, personally I will opt to spend 200 pounds more and buy an epson 7000 projector.

We have this setup at a 200″ diagonal screen size on drywall painted light grey/silver, and our primary use is gaming with an Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. The picture quality is excellent in 4K. 1080p content looks fine, but I am longing for getting all NFL games in 4K. Literally Madden 23 is prettier to look at than the actual NFL broadcast because of my lack of getting the NFL in 4K. We’ve watched a couple movies, both 1080p and 4K, and I am happy with this projector in terms of picture quality, brightness, and no lag for gaming.

This was initially just a £1000 paperweight! It arrived password locked! The website is useless and I was going to have to return it. But my son sat down and kept trying numbers until he got lucky and unlocked it.

The image is superb. It’s crystal clear and easy to focus. The keystone adjustment isn’t great so it’s not particularly flexible when it comes to siting it. Having said that, from about 3m, it’s throwing a 120in wide-screen picture that is fantastic. The difference in picture quality between our previous HD projector and this 4K projector is truly remarkable.
The colour depth is good. As with all projectors, it struggles with highlights but it’s considerably better than most.
The speakers really aren’t very good but we run the sound through a surround sound system anyway. If you are just buying it for the picture as you have a different way to play the sound, this is a great projector. If not, keep looking or budget for a better speaker system too.

I’ve had this for about a month now. I’ve installed many projectors and have some experience here.
Overall it’s a good projector, the throw distance was perfect for what I needed.
Projecting onto a 110″ screen from about 10′ away. — Hanging from ceiling.
I’m using this for daily use. Audio for my setup goes to a soundbar from the 3.5mm jack for normal viewing. When I turn on the receiver, it interrupts the audio from the HDMI and the audio only comes from the surround speakers at that point. Works well and sounds great when needed.

Excellent throw distance for small rooms. — Very forgiving throw distances. — For my screen size, anywhere from 108″-140″ throw distance will work for 110″ screen.
Plenty bright — However it is not powerful enough to overcome the room lights I have. You still want to use this in a space you have good control over the light.
    It’s 4K
It’s 3D — Yes, this works well, but I did find myself inverting the images on a couple movies. — Used DLP Active shutter glasses. —
It’s small — This is good because I have a low ceiling where this is installed and need people to be able to walk under it.

Can’t get this to power up or down with the Xfinity remote (Volume does work after trying a dozen codes). — Still working on a remote config for my system.
No optical out. (Would be nice to have for added connection flexibility.)
When viewing in 3D, it puts the lamp from Eco mode, back to «normal», and does not put it back when 3D viewing is over. This is the highest brightness setting and uses up lamp hours quicker. — Use one of the Eco modes for longer lamp life.
Adjusting the screen is a little cumbersome, but doable. Focus and zoom are stiff, making it hard to really fine tune it.
Fans can be a bit loud. They are worse when lamp is set to «Normal».

    Overall, not bad.
The price point for being a 4K projector is good. It’s far from perfect, but given the cost and what it can do, I’m happy with it so far.

This would have been a 5 Stars projector if the first one I received was not defective.
I was really impressed with the picture quality of this projector once I got it working. Which makes it a worthy replacement of my previous Mitsubishi DLP HD projector.

Unfortunately, it was clear that I received a defective unit !!!!!!!!! This was clear to me within minutes of plugging in a 4K Apple TV unit as the source. I immediately heard a loud grinding sound. stopped everything unplugged everything and restarted… The same grinding started again. It was so loud and actually louder than my coffee beans grinder-No kidding!
I removed the HDMI and connected a brand new 4K Apple TV that I had intended for this projector. It seemed to work fine and allowed me to adjust the image to my taste. A lot of control over color, picture quality. Overall excellent picture quality in 4k bright and detailed.

On the first unit that was defective, there was somewhat a loud flickering sound -similar to an old 16mm projector running a film that was not as loud as the grinding sound I experienced with the first Apple TV I connected. It seemed really strange. When I pause the show, the sound stops, when I resume playing the show, the sound returns. I had to send it back and repurchase it again. I will update this review once I receive the replacement.

-Super bright picture — that you can watch even with some daylight or soft dim light in the room.
    -High Quality picture
    -Beautiful colors
    -Smooth gradients and grayscales
    -Good on screen menu
-Responsive remote (if you want the backlit version of this remote, it comes only with the PX 748 model)
-Smooth zoom and focus ring for easy adjustment
-Very Sharp picture from corner to corner
-Auto Keystone feature — saves a lot of time and effort.
    -3 years warranty.

Defective unit — makes ne worry about quality control

    ***Update 12/15/22
I received my PX-701 4K replacement! Very quiet fan which confirmed that the first one I received was defective! Stunning picture quality on a good quality 100″ screen ! I attached several photos from Apple TV as the source with 100″ electric motorized screen by Elite Screens
I do recommend this projector! It is a bargain for a 4K projector under $1000.

***Update 12/28/2022. I’m truly in love with this projector, specially after testing 5 different projectors from different brands. In that $900 range, I haven’t seen a single 4K capable projector that comes even close to this 3200 lumens brightness and picture quality. I highly recommend it!
