The cable works great, but the DP side keeps slipping out of place. A locking tab (like on other DP cables) on that side would help a lot.

Update: It turns out that my old Dell doesn’t output audio through the display port, oh well. This cable still works fantastically for video.
Original: I bought this for a 2010 Dell 780 USFF that I’ve had for years, but lost my old VGA to HDMI adapter cable for. I had bought another, but it didn’t work at all…
So I decided I’d try to go the easy route and use the display port, since it carry’s both audio and video. This happened to be the least expensive and fastest shipping option so I went with it and I’m glad I did. It works beautifully so far.
So far I haven’t tested the audio yet, because I had to reinstall windows 10 on the HDD I swapped into it somewhere along the way. It’s still installing as I write this, which is why I took the time to write this. These old core 2 duos aren’t exactly known for being fast processors.
As always, amazon basics shocks me with another decent product. I’ll update this review once I get a chance to check the audio output.

Nur um es nochmal deutlich zu sagen: Diese Kabel funktioniert NUR von einem DisplayPort-AUSGANG auf einen HDMI-EINGANG! Man kann also mit diesem Kabel NICHT einen Rechner mit HDMI-Ausgang an einen Monitor mit DisplayPort-Eingang anschließen. Das ist technisch nicht möglich und geht auch mit keinem anderen Kabel!

Works as advertised and as intended. 4k video is buttery smooth now. A must if you have a 3000 series and up card plus a 4k TV.

IMPORTANT INFO: I’m sure the cable works fine, but I had to return it, as I was trying to use an HDMI output from a laptop to a DisplayPort input on a monitor. After searching why it wasn’t working, I found out that you can’t use it that way (a Computer HDMI can not upconvert to DisplayPort), you would need a separate converter. Hope this is helpful when analyzing your need. I finally purchased the HDMI to DVI cable and that worked perfectly.

Before you purchase the cable make sure you are using it as Display port out and HDMI in. For example if your graphics card has a display port out and your monitor has HDMI in, you will see a picture on your screen. If you try to use it as HDMI out and display port in IT WILL NOT WORK. Dont blame the cable. Please keep that in mind when you buy this cable.

I have an older DELL minitower computer that I use for periodic tasks and decided to connect an old flat screen tv to it as a secondary monitor. This cable allowed me to plug in to the computers’ DisplayPort ports and output video to the tv’s HDMI connections. I have tried both DisplayPort plugs on the computer as well as all three HDMI ports on the tv without any problems.
The video is fine for watching movies (my reason for doing this) but limited to what this low-end tv can do. Not a surprise but something to be mindful of if you plan to do the same. Overall, I am happy with this cable since it appears to be well made and is functioning fine.

説明を理解せずに、間違って購入してしまった。
自分の環境はPC側がHDMI、モニター側がdispayportです。これでは使えません。
ケーブル代ドブに捨てたー。

This cable does exactly as is needed while being a solid and cost effective solution. The size is suited to close systems plugs fit snuggly.
Unfortunately for myself tbis particular cable ended up not being what I needed at the time for the display setup I have. Running a graphics card with a display, hdmi, and dvi while using a drawing tablet that hogs the one hdi left me restricted on what i can use. Did not realize until after setting up a monitor purchased alongside this that my other display lacked a second hdmi (using as primary display to a Switch).
Good choice, great price, make sure to trippl check what you need if you are limited on ports!
